I know I have said it before but I am secretly (maybe not so secretly according to my Husband ) competitive , if there is a certificate or a badge that I can achieve I’m all in ! From Cycling proficiency and Swimming at School , through to my Canoe instructor qualifications in the last few years , I get very excited at the thought of winning or achieving , and it appears its the same with Photography!
I started entering Competitions quite early on in my photography career , I wanted to know what standard my photographs were compared to others and also to see how I was improving . I have been incredibly fortunate to be BIPP Northwest Photographer of the Year on 2 previous occasions and this year I did it again !
We have an incredible amount of photographic talent in the Northwest and the standards on entries , as always was very high and it was a nervous wait to see who had one the different Categories , then the sections and then the overall Winner …..thank goodness for gin!!!!
Gold award for Environmental portraiture
Gold award for Fine Art
Gold Award for under 5s
Silver awards in Pets , Fine Art and Studio Portraiture
Bronze Awards in Environmental Portraiture, Creative Portraiture and Studio Portraiture
And these were the ones that did not quite make it but I am incredibly proud of all my entries and very grateful to all my Clients and models who have been generous enough to allow me to use the images and for just being so supportive of me
Thank you to BIPP Northwest – to the Chairman and Committee for all their hard work
Huge Thank you , as always to Mike , my lovely Husband who deals with my stress levels on the run up to the Award evening and is incredibly supportive of everything I do . Its the last year that I will be entering these awards so to win , is incredibly special …..just need to look for a new challenge now and the next Certificate and badge!!!!!
